Former Envoy Awarded Friendship Medal From Vietnam

Former Swedish ambassador to Vietnam Anna Lindstedt received Friendship Medal at the Vietnamese embassy in Mexico on Friday October 20. The ambassador was honored for her active contributions to the development of the comprehensive cooperative relationship between Sweden and Vietnam.
    Lindstedt who appointed the Swedish ambassador to Mexico for two months ago praised that Vietnam has achieved in linking economic growth with the hunger eradication and poverty reduction, raising people’s living standards, medical and educational development and environment protection.
    Lindstedt continued that she appreciated Vietnam’s policies that respecting the citizen’s right, freedom of speech and free press and promote democracy at grassroots level. She noted that after Vietnam joined the World Trade Organization (WTO), it would help Sweden to expand trade and investment activities in Vietnam.
