Norway's Transposition Project Will Introduce Vietnam's Music to the World

Vietnamese conservatory students will be awarded with Norwegian scholarships provided by the Norwegian music organization, Ultima Oslo, which will also sponsor contemporary music festivals, and build international standard recording studios for traditional music, the Scandinavian music council announced at a press conference on December 31, 2007.
    The three year project called Transposition, ending in December 2009, assisted Vietnamese conservatories and orchestras with instruments, materials, education and management and promoted local music to the world.
    The project had the cooperation of Vietnam’s leading music institutions like Hanoi Conservatory of Music, Hanoi Symphony Orchestra, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Ho Chi Minh City Opera and Symphony Orchestra.
